The Sci-Fi Channel (or whatever stupid name they’re calling it now. Siffy or something?) hasn’t had a show worth watching since Battlestar ended its run. Yes, I’m including the horribly squandered premise of Stargate Universe.

With intense hope and prayers to the FSM, that might change with The Expanse premiering in December.

Why am I writing about it now? It’s based on a series of books, and you’ll have time to read them (or some of them) before the show starts, if you want.

Here’s some details about the show and the books.

I watched Adam Sandler’s latest fiction product, Pixels, and I have an opinion about it.

So do a lot of other people. I link to a few of them too.

E3, the yearly video game expo, was last month (yeah, I had other cool stuff to write about first).

I didn’t go, because I don’t hate myself.

A bunch of cool games were announced, and now that we’ve got a bit of distance from the sturm und drang of the show, I figured it was worth taking a look at what to look forward to in the coming year.

A short list, with trailers…

You can play (or re-play) one of the greatest RPGs off all time, the epic BioWare Knights of the Old Republic right now, on your phone or tablet.

$10 is quite a deal, compared to the price when the game was new.

But is it any fun? Good question.

I have seen Terminator: Genisys and I have some thoughts on it.

I don’t want to spoil anything for you, so you’ll have to click through for a even just a spoiler-free review.

Below that, I’ll dive in a bit more in a very spoilery way.

The “Wife Acceptance Factor” has to go. It’s archaic, misogynistic, and the wrong way to think about our hobby.

As enthusiasts, we need to abolish the acronym “WAF.”

Here’s why.

I’ve been playing Battlefield Hardline and for the first time in the Battlefield series, I’m not sure I can recommend it. Not to Battlefield fans like myself.

Battlefield fans not like myself, maybe.

Here’s why.

I have seen Tomorrowland and I have some thoughts.

But, like I’ve mentioned before, I don’t want to spoil anything if you want to see it but don’t want to know anything about it beforehand (I’m like that too).

So, after the jump, a brief, spoiler-free overview of what I thought. Then the trailer. Then the more meaty review/discussion stuff.

I have seen Mad Max, and I have an opinion on it.

I also don’t like to give away anything in movie reviews. So if you click to the next page, the first part will be a spoiler free paragraph on what I think. Then the trailer. Below the trailer THERE BE SPOILERS. You are warned!

I’m a big fan of Death Cab. I’ve got all their albums, yadda yadda, and several of them are among my favorites of all time (Plans is masterful). So you’d think I’d have been impatiently awaiting the March 31st release of their new album.

Except… I didn’t buy it until last week.

Why? I’m a terrible music reviewer, and not paying attention to new releases isn’t even top 5 why.
