A few days ago the world lost one of the great comedic actors, Gene Wilder. While I’d always considered myself a fan, it wasn’t until I really thought about the roles he’d had that I realized what a gift he had been to us all.

So to celebrate his career, here are some of my favorite moments (at least the ones with clips available online). Feel free to add yours.

Among my eclectic musical loves is the Grateful Dead. I remember enjoying the occasional song, as many do, and then discovering the brilliant Reckoning, which is still one of my favorite live albums.

I wouldn’t say I’m the biggest fan, but I thoroughly a good Dead tune, and have played their songs live more than any other band (except maybe the Allman Brothers).

There are countless cover albums of Dead tunes, and most are… well I guess what you think of them largely has to do with what you think of the bands playing them.

Day of the Dead, a meaty 59-track album whose profits go to the Red Hot Organization, are a fantastic mix of artists. And, for the most part, it works great. Here are some highlights and thoughts.

Dan Harmon, the beautifully deranged mind behind Community and Rick and Morty (the best written show on TV, by far), has unleashed his mad genius on… live role playing games?

No, seriously, this show is a joy.

I’m standing atop the Sagrada Família basilica in Barcelona. I look up, and Gaudí’s organically ornate spires reach up toward the sky and sun above me. I look down, and the streets radiate out like spokes on a wheel. Suddenly, I want tapas.

Check out Part 1 about setup, and Part 2 about some games.

After two weeks with the HTC Vive I have some overall thoughts about it and hopes about the once and future of gaming: VR.

Ever browse Amazon late at night? Like, really late at night? Maybe you’re bored. Maybe you need a new pair of socks, and you go down a rabbit hole. Maybe you’ve downed a fifth of Crown Royal Maple whisky because it’s Tuesday in the middle of February and you’ve broken your leg in two places and the Vicodin is finally kicking in, and OMG, I need a vacuum-tube headphone amp! Just an example. Whatever.

In Part 1 I talked about setting up the HTC Vive VR headset. Here’s what it’s like to play.

I got invited to preview showing of Finding Dory and I have some thoughts.

Overall thoughts after the jump, then some deeper (a pun) thoughts after another break.

The era of VR is here, finally, with the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive are leading the charge. I’ve tried several generations the Oculus Rift and while it’s amazing, the Vive goes one step further. Literally.

Using laser tracking, the Vive lets you actually move around a virtual space.

I got my hands (and head) on one. Here’s the first part of a multi-part review series.

Blizzard has finally released their long-awaited online first-person shooter, Overwatch. It looks like a highly-stylized cross between a FPS and a MOBA (think Dota 2 or Heroes of the Storm).

We’ve been teased with screenshots and videos for what seems like ages.

So it’s finally here. Is it worth the $40?

Well, it’s Blizzard, so…
