Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks star as two cash-strapped roommates who try to get out of debt by making an adult film. Once the cameras start rolling, things quickly get complicated...and hilarious!

So much hoopla was made about this film up to its theatrical release. Smith doesn’t really do anything overly shocking in this film (though there is one scene that still makes me gag) and I wonder how much of the buzz and controversy surrounding the film strictly had to do with the title. The film has some genuine heart to it and Smith continues to show a bit more maturity with his newer films. Fans of his work will probably love this one and I thought it was a great comedy piece that was more plausible than many want to admit.

The HD presentation here is excellent with solid detail and a great sense of dimension. I was really impressed with the fine detail on display here and the very natural looking film presentation. Fine film grain is preserved beautifully and the sense of depth on display is superb. Black levels and shadow detail are solid and the colors have a nice punch that is faithful to the theatrical presentation. Honestly, I have nothing at all to pick on here.

The Dolby TrueHD mix is also excellent with nice dynamic range a good balance of ambiance. The spatial design is better than I would expect for the genre and there are some very convincing moments of soundstage that excel in low bass extension and atmosphere. Dialogue always sounds very natural and the balance within the mix is perfect.

Extras take a look at the production with on-set footage and interviews along with some deleted scenes. You also get the webisodes from the film and the Comic-Con footage from 2008. The blooper reels were the real highlight though and nearly as funny as the film.

It is great to see Kevin Smith continue to do more adult comedy and you can see that his range is getting broader. While this film isn’t for everyone it still has a great balance of raunchy adult humor and heart. The A/V presentation is excellent making this an easy recommendation.
