Q I just purchased a Samsung 4K UHDTV and am now ready to spring for a new A/V receiver. It’s May 2015. Are there any HDCP 2.2-compatible AV receivers available yet? —Pat Balice

If you asked that question this time last year, the answer would have been no—a sorry state of affairs considering that plenty of new AV receivers were advertised as having “4K-ready” HDMI 2.0 connections. But now it’s May 2015 and I’m happy to report there are plenty of HDCP 2.2-compatible AV receivers on the market to choose from.

A If you’re looking for something entry-level, check out the Yamaha RX-V379 ($299), Sony’s STR-DN860 ($499) and STR-DN-1060 ($599), or Pioneer’s VSX-830 , VSX-1130 , VSX-45 , and VSX-90 ($399-$700).

Stepping up to the mid-level, there’s Onkyo’s 2015 lineup, which includes the TX-NR636 , TX-NR737 , TX-NR838 , TX-NR1030 , and TX-NR3030 ($699-$2,399). At this level you’ll also find Sony’s ES series, including the STR-ZA1000ES , STR-ZA2000ES, and STR-ZA3000ES ($899-$1699).

Finally, at the high end of the HDCP 2.2 receiver spectrum, you’ll find Integra’s DTR-60.6 ($2,300), Denon’s AVR-X7200WA ($2,999), and the Marantz AV8802A ($3,999).

All above receivers are available now, the Denon and Marantz excepted. Those models are slated to ship in mid-May and mid-June, respectively.
