Sling Offers Cloud DVR to Amazon Fire TV Users

Sling TV owners who use Amazon Fire TV, Fire TV Stick, or Fire tablet devices are being offered an “exclusive” opportunity to buy into Sling’s Cloud DVR service under the company’s First Look “early access” program.

The Cloud DVR, which was introduced to Roku users late last year during a beta period, provides 50 hours of storage for $5 a month with any Sling TV subscription. In addition to Amazon, the service is supported by Android TV, Android mobile devices, Roku streaming players, and Roku TV. Sling said it plans to expand Cloud DVR to additional devices in the coming months, starting with Apple TV.

Features include the ability to pause, rewind, or fast-forward recorded content, record multiple programs simultaneously, set recording schedules on-the-go, record more channels than under the beta program, protect recordings, and group recorded programs in folders.

Eligible customers can add the Cloud DVR by signing in to their Sling account and selecting “Add Cloud DVR.”
