Samsung Expands Ultra High-Definition TV Lineup with F9000 Series

55- and 65-inch Models Available for Pre-Order July 21

Samsung’s next wave of 4K Ultra High-Definition (UHD) TVs will be part of a new F9000 line offering 55- and 65-inch models. Available for pre-order starting July 21, the models are expected to sell for $5,500 and $7,500, respectively, when they hit stores in early August.

Following in the footsteps of the S9 UHD TV introduced earlier this year, key features of the F9000 series include Samsung’s Smart Hub interface with built-in Wi-Fi, voice and gesture control, and the company's proprietary Quadmatic Picture Engine, which uses a four-step process including signal analysis, noise minimization, UHD upscaling, and detail enhancement to upconvert standard and high-definition content to UHD.

Smart Hub organizes content into five panels—On TV, Movies and TV Shows, Social, Apps, Photos, and Videos and Music—and includes an S Recommendation feature to help viewers discover new programs.

The F9000 series uses Samsung’s Precision Black Local Dimming, which is said to make blacks darker without affecting brighter elements of the picture, and Micro Dimming Ultimate, said to sharpen images and enhance contrast.

Other highlights include 3D, a built-in camera for video chatting, a quad-core processor to expedite navigation between TV content and Smart TV apps, a “2.2-channel” 70-watt sound system, and a stylish Arc Stand.
