RIP: Cream Bassist, Rock Icon Jack Bruce

Jack Bruce, lead vocalist and bassist of the influential Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band Cream, died Saturday at his home in England. He was 71.

Best know as the voice of such iconic songs as “Sunshine of Your Love” and “White Room,” both co-written with Eric Clapton, Bruce was the subject of The S&V Interview in April. In what would be one of his final interviews, he spoke with contributor Mike Mettler about the heyday of Cream and his final album, Silver Rails.

Bruce’s passing was announced on his Facebook page: "It is with great sadness that we, Jack’s family, announce the passing of our beloved Jack: husband, father, granddad, and all round legend. The world of music will be a poorer place without him, but he lives on in his music and forever in our hearts."
