New HTC Smartphone Boasts Harman’s Clari-Fi Audio Technology

Ever long for better sound quality from your smartphone? Harman Kardon hears you. The HTC One M8 – Harman Kardon Edition is the first smartphone to incorporate HK’s Clari-Fi technology, which is said to improve the audio quality of compressed, digital music sources.

Clari-Fi analyzes digital audio signals in real time and uses an algorithm to improve fidelity by restoring nuances lost when music is compressed, according to Harman. The phone also incorporates Harman’s LiveStage signal processing, which is said to “realign the stereo image” to increase depth and dimension and restore the placement of vocalists, instruments, and percussion on the soundstage.

Available exclusively on Sprint’s mobile network, the HTC One M8 phone has dual front-facing stereo speakers with enhanced amplifiers and redesigned speaker chambers, which, in addition to improving sound quality, increase volume potential 25 percent over the phone’s predecessor, the M7. In addition, the phone includes Harman Kardon in-ear headphones with an inline remote for changing tracks or volume and a built-in microphone for hands-free conversation.
