Netflix now streams in HD on PC and Mac

Netflix HD video streaming been a feature for game consoles, Blu-ray players, and set-top boxes for months, but until now it's eluded PC and Mac viewers. According to Engadget, approximately half of the 720p movies and television shows available on Netflix's Watch Instantly service can now be viewed at their full resolution. The feature requires using Netflix's Silverlight-based web player, and it doesn't include surround audio. It doesn't seem to be officially rolled out yet, since Netflix hasn't made an announcement, and users are reporting mixed results. It's still a start to bringing a long-desired feature to Netflix's web-based video player.
