The making of a vinyl record

As a vinyl enthusiast, I have seen plenty of "how are records made?" videos. The problem is that most of them are dated and cheesy, as if they had been culled from the archives of Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood or Mystery Science Theater 3000. The wonderful DIY nerds at Make, however came across this behind-the-scenes look at a new pressing plant in Cleveland called Gotta Groove Records. Not only does it give you a brief technical view of the manufacturing process, but also a short state of the vinyl union from guys who make their money pressing biscuits into the big, flat circles we have come to love so much. It's definitely not a bad way to spend five minutes here on a Friday, especially if you're into that distinctive look you get from HD video shot on a Canon 5D Mark II. -Stan Horaczek
