Lionsgate Films Announces DTS:X Plans

Anxious to hear DTS:X surround sound? Lionsgate Films today announced plans to release three films in the new object-based immersive audio format.

Recently released American Ultra, Sicario—slated to open in theaters September 18—and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 on November 13, will be exhibited in select DTS:X-equipped theaters in the U.S., including Muvico 14 in Thousand Oaks, CA, the first to bring DTS:X sound to the public

To ensure quality and provide flexibility within the DTS:X program, DTS said it has partnered with “industry-leading” server, sound rendering and processing companies, GDC Technology, QSC, and USL, all of which have developed and made available DTS:X-ready components.

Finally, DTS is getting in the game and giving us something to compare against Atmos. Can't wait to hear their solution in a commercial theater.
