This graph shows the quasi-anechoic (employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the Hz212-UT L/R (purple trace), Hz212-UT center channel (green trace), Ds113 surround (red trace), and A10-UT subwoofer (blue trace). All passive loudspeakers were measured with grills at a distance of 1 meter with a 2.83-volt input and scaled for display purposes.

The Hz212-UT’s left channel listening-window response (a five-point average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal and vertical responses) measures +3.95/–7.59 decibels from 300 hertz to 10 kilohertz. (Please note that in this case the response extension is so limited that our usual 200 Hz call-out-point is below the pass band, so 300 Hz was chosen here instead.) The –3dB point is at 356 Hz, and the –6dB point is at 251 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 9.55 ohms at 579 Hz and a phase angle of –25.68 degrees at 388 Hz.

The Hz212-UT’s center channel listening-window response measures +0.88/–3.14 dB from 300 Hz to 10 kHz. An average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal responses measures +1.06/–3.19 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3dB point is at 314 Hz, and the –6dB point is at 235 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 5.30 ohms at 657 Hz and a phase angle of –24.69 degrees at 343 Hz.

The Ds113’s listening-window response measures +3.41/–2.94 dB from 300 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3dB point is at 205 Hz, and the –6dB point is at 167 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 7.97 ohms at 424 Hz and a phase angle of –31.50 degrees at 247 Hz.

The A10-UT’s close-miked response, normalized to the level at 80 Hz, indicates that the lower –3dB point is at 54 Hz and the –6dB point is at 44 Hz. The upper –3dB point is at 146 Hz using the LFE input with the Bass Boost switch set to On.—MJP
