Klipsch Offers Walnut Base Turntable

Klipsch has partnered with Pro-ject Audio to offer its first turntable, expanding yet again beyond the horn-loaded home speakers the iconic brand has been building for 70 years.

The Debut Carbon belt-drive turntable ($449) features a striking walnut veneer base designed to match Klipsch Heritage series speakers, a cork slipmat embossed with the Paul W. Klipsch signature logo, and an 8.6-inch carbon tube tonearm fitted with an Ortofon 2M Red phono cartridge.

Klipsch describes the turntable as vintage-inspired. Additional highlights include a hinged dust cover, a new DC power supply with a precision DC-driven AC generator for speed stability (the same one used in Pro-Ject’s Speed Box) and Pro-Ject’s new TPE (thermo plastic elastomers) motor suspension.

Key specs include:
Wow & flutter: +/- 0 .1%
Speed drift +/- 0.8%
Signal to noise: 68dB
Effective arm length: 218.5 mm
Effective arm mass: 6.0g
Overhang: 18.5mm
Tracking force: 10-30mN
