Kirk Hammett's Porsche is the ultimate Metallica collectible

A Porsche 911 C4 with a $20,000 (in 1990) sound system would generally fetch a decent sum on eBay, but this particular ride is a piece of rock and roll history. Before the release of Metallica's self-titled record (most commonly referred to as "The Black Album") Kirk Hammett was worried that the new sound would prevent the band from selling as well as their previous work. Tour manager, Tony Smith bet Hammett that the record would sell more than 10 million copies, which of course, it did. Hammett handed over the keys and the documents and now the ride has made its way onto eBay for rich guys to bid on and Internet writers to fantasize about. Bid is currently at $27,000, but there is still more than a week left to go on the auction. Just be careful in case Llars is sick of selling million dollar paintings and has moved on to sports cars. [Note: if you don't get that joke, do yourself a favor and rent the Metallica documentary, Some Kind of Monster.]
