KEF T305 Speaker System HT Labs Measures

HT Labs Measures

Satellite Sensitivity:
90 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz

Center Sensitivity:
90 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz

This graph shows the quasi-anechoic (corrected for on-wall boundary gain and employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the T301 satellite (purple trace), T301c center channel (green trace), and T-2 subwoofer (blue trace). All passive loudspeakers were measured with grilles at a distance of 1 meter with a 2.83-volt input and scaled for display purposes.

The T301’s listening-window response (a five-point average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal and vertical responses) measures +1.75/–4.50 decibels from 200 hertz to 10 kilohertz. The –3-dB point is at 137 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 118 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.20 ohms at 5.1 kHz and a phase angle of –44.84 degrees at 198 Hz.

The T301c’s listening-window response measures +1.67/ –3.82 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. An average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal responses measures +1.92/–3.74 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3-dB point is at 139 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 120 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.12 ohms at 5.1 kHz and a phase angle of –44.17 degrees at 198 Hz.

The T-2’s close-miked response, normalized to the level at 80 Hz, indicates that the lower –3-dB point is at 38 Hz and the –6-dB point is at 34 Hz. The upper –3-dB point is at 193 Hz with the Bass Boost switch set to +6 dB.—MJP
