KEF KHT6000 Speaker System and Arcam AVP700 Pre/Pro and P1000 Amplifier HT Labs Measures: KEF

HT Labs Measures: KEF KHT6000 Speaker System

Satellite Sensitivity: 84 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz

Center Sensitivity: 84 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz

This graph shows the quasi-anechoic (employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the HTS6001 satellites (purple trace), PSW3500 subwoofer (blue trace), and HTS6001 center channel (green trace). All passive loudspeakers were measured with grilles at a distance of 1 meter with a 2.83-volt input and scaled for display purposes.

The satellite's listening-window response (a five-point average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal and vertical responses) measures +1.33/–3.33 decibels from 200 hertz to 10 kilohertz. The –3-dB point is at 128 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 108 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.42 ohms at 99 Hz and a phase angle of –65.72 degrees at 16.2 kHz.

The center's listening-window response measures +1.10/–3.28 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. An average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal responses measures +1.22/–3.71 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3-dB point is at 124 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 106 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.33 ohms at 98 Hz and a phase angle of –66.07 degrees at 15.8 kHz.

The PSW3500's close-miked response in Music mode, normalized to the level at 80 Hz, indicates that the lower –3-dB point is at 29 Hz and the –6-dB point is at 26 Hz. The upper –3-dB point is at 270 Hz with the Low-Pass switch set to LFE.—MJP
