As Andy prepares to depart for college, Woody, Buzz, Jessie and the rest of Andy's faithful toys wonder what will become of them. But, when a mix-up lands them at Sunnyside Daycare, they meet a host of new toys and soon discover a wild new adventure is just beginning!

Disney/Pixar always serve up the most tremendous Blu-ray presentations and this one is definitely no exception. Everything about it is pure eye candy with amazing color rendition, dimensionality and detail. Contrast is spot on with deep blacks that never crush shadow detail and wonderfully rich color that is devoid of noise and banding. The DTS-HD Master Audio mix is also sensational. Toy Story 3 was the first feature film to be delivered in true 7.1 in theaters and introduced the Dolby Digital 7.1 audio system. So this is a true 7.1 soundtrack from conception. Like all of Pixar’s films the sound design is amazing with aggressive use of the surround soundstage and deep, rich bass response. The balance of all the elements is spot on with exceptional clarity and imaging. A pure reference presentation from top to bottom.

For this review I received the 4-disc edition complete with a DVD copy of the film and a digital copy for your portable device. The first Blu-ray houses the feature film along with Pixar’s outstanding short, “Day & Night”, which continues their trend of spectacular short films. You also get some trailers for upcoming films and a mission log feature. The second disc houses the bulk of the supplements that dissect the production of the film and include commentaries, interviews and a behind the scenes look at the development of the film and story. You also get some fun interactive features, games, a look at Pixar and some fun trivia.

Delivering a third installment of any franchise is tough, and to live up to the bar set by Pixar’s first two gems is almost impossible. Well they succeeded beautifully. Delivering one of their best films yet, which is saying a lot, Toy Story 3 is perfect family fun. An absolute must-own!!
