Integra DPS-7.2 DVD Player

Many home theater fans have come to the hobby from an audiophile background. For these folks, sound quality is equally important to picture quality in the pursuit of the ultimate home entertainment experience. Integra has designed the DPS-7.2 DVD player with these customers in mind.

The first DVD-Video and DVD-Audio player to win THX Ultra certification, the 7.2 features 192-kHz/24-bit DACs, "Direct Digital Path," RS-232 control port, and a dedicated subwoofer output. Audio format compatibility includes MP3 CD-R playback, and video compatibility includes playback of DVD-R and DVD-RW. Multichannel options: The DPS-7.2 has a 6-channel multichannel output, one stereo output, plus two optical and one coaxial digital audio outputs.

Video refinements include 10-Bit/54MHz video D/A conversion claimed to offer outstanding DVD video performance and picture quality in either 16:9 or 4:3 aspect ratios. There are dual parallel component, S-Video, and composite video outputs, and an RS-232 control port for interfacing with AMX, Panja, Crestron, and other home automation systems.

Users will enjoy exceptional control over the playback with quick-start play, three-speed fast-forward and reverse, and four slow motion playback modes from 1/2 to 1/16th normal speed. Program playback and memory features for DVD and CD playback include last play memory & resume for 5 DVDs, condition memory for 15 discs, A-B repeat, title/chapter/track repeat, random playback, and program playback/memory for 24 discs. A front-panel joystick button provides for easy navigation of the player’s menus. The DPS-7.2 can play almost any optical disc, including DVD Video, DVD Audio, CD, CD-R, CD-RW, Video CD, DVD-R, and DVD-RW. Suggested retail price is $800.
