Epson unveiled the $360 PowerLite Home Cinema 640 budget projector at last week’s Holiday Spectacular press event in New York City.

Weighing just over 5 pounds, the three-chip LCD projector and has a built-in speaker, an HDMI port, four color modes, and automatic vertical image correction to facilitate quick out-of-the-box setup anywhere. Horizontal image correction is handled via an Easy-Slide control bar and an intuitive home screen is said to simplify navigation and setup.

Native resolution is 800 x 600 and both color and white brightness are rated at 3,200 lumens. “The Home Cinema 640 is the ideal projector for movie nights, outdoor matinees and multiplayer videogames," said Jason Palmer, marketing manager.

The projector is covered by a two-year limited warranty (90 days for the lamp) with toll-free access to priority technical support.
