David Mamet's first stab at a TV series distinguishes itself by placing as much emphasis on homefront drama and interdepartmental politics as on the Special Ops action. The picture on this four-disc set has solid colors, whether the team is heading to the glaring sands of the Middle East or the dark jungles of Asia - or staying in the bright confines of the suburbs. The 5.1-channel mix handles domestic scenes delicately, but it uses the full soundstage to ramp up the intensity of battle sequences. The sole episode commentary has producer Shawn Ryan, actor Demore Barnes, and author Eric Haney offering interesting insight into the military mindset. But other than that, there's just an 8-minute making-of featurette, notable only for Mamet's colorful metaphors. [TV-PG] English, Dolby Digital 5.1; letterboxed (1.78:1) and anamorphic widescreen; one single- and three dual-layer discs.
