The DTV Transition Date Goes Back to the Future

Join me in doing your best Amy Poehler voice when I read that headline and say, "Really?" The bill pushing back the deadline for the DTV transition to June 12th is alive again and should be going under the pen of the president fairly soon. The converter box coupon program has been reinstated, which is a good thing, but if they expect this to make things any less confusing, they're crazy. Some broadcasters, eager to kill the pricey analog broadcasts, are sticking to the original date of February 17th and others will trickle over until the cut off date, leaving many non-wired users to wake up every day wondering if they're going to get The Price Is Right or not. I guess this kind of thing is necessary when you only give people and companies several years notice about something.
