Home theater component companies Denon and Marantz have announced that they'll include AirPlay support in several receivers, preamps, and networked media players. AirPlay is Apple's wireless media streaming system, which lets users send music from their computers directly to their home theaters through iTunes. AirPlay support also gives users volume and playback control from their computers and through an iPhone app.

Denon's AVR-4311CI, AVR-3311CI, AVR-991, and AVR-A100 receivers, and N7 CD receiver and speaker system will get AirPlay support through a firmware upgrade users will be able to purchase from Denon's web site. Marantz products to get AirPlay support will include the SR7005 receiver, AV7005 preamp, NA7004 network audio player, and M-CR603 networked CD receiver. The support will come in the form of firmware upgrades available for purchase from the manufacturers' respective web sites. The upgrades will cost $49, and will be available starting November 25.
