Crestron Home-Automation Integration Now Available for Select Denon and Marantz Receivers

Crestron has announced that select Denon and Marantz AV receivers can now be updated via firmware to seamlessly integrate with the company’s home automation systems. The update can be accessed via the receiver’s system setup menu.

Denon models that support “Crestron Connected” integration are the AVR-X3000, AVR-X4000, and AVR-4520CI; Marantz models are the SR6008, SR7008, AV8801, and AV7701 (update scheduled for March 30).

The integration is said to make it easier to provide additional surround sound rooms with complete control and two-way feedback, including network streaming. The receivers integrate with Crestron systems via standard Ethernet cable, eliminating the need for custom installers to develop a software module and making it easier to customize the receiver’s interface for source switching, volume, and Internet radio control.
