CES 2016 Coverage Begins Tuesday, Jan. 5

CES, the mother of all consumer technology shows is upon us. The show officially opens Wednesday, January 6 and runs through Saturday, January 9 but our coverage kicks off tomorrow (Tuesday, January 5), a day packed with wall-to-wall press conferences. Expect to hear from a number of the majors, including Samsung, LG, Panasonic, and Sony.

Sound & Vision’s veteran blogging team will be actively canvassing than 2 million square feet of exhibit space during the week to bring to you the most important AV news.

Among the products and trends we’ll be paying close attention to are Ultra HD Blu-ray—who will be the first to bring a player to market?—TVs with high-dynamic range and wide color gamut capabilities, and audio gear that embraces the new “immersive sound” formats: Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and Auro-3D—even soundbars (see “Samsung to Unveil Atmos-Enabled Soundbar…”).

Tom Norton and Al Griffin will be keeping tabs on developments in TV and video with help from our fearless leader, editor Rob Sabin, while Mark Fleischmann tracks all things audio with help from Ken Pohlmann and Leslie Shapiro who will be paying special attention to Hi-Res audio, headphones, and more.

Barb Gonzalez will be following developments in media streaming, while John Sciacca and Darryl Wilkinson report on developments in the custom AV and connected/smart home space—an area brimming with excitement.
