Birds and electric guitars make beautiful music

I recently had a disagreement with a friend about the band, Sunn O))). They're what's considered a drone metal band, which means they come out on stage in monk robes and play long strings of guitar sounds with an almost total lack of traditional song structure. Personally, I think it's kind of silly. Then, I watched this video of birds in a field doing essentially the same thing (minus the robes, of course) and I'm enthralled. The video above is the work of French artist, Celeste Boursier-Mougenot and the birds are known as zebra finches. It's part of a UK art exhibit, which delves into all sorts of other nerdery that A/V enthusiasts might get a kick out of. One of the pieces is a close-up video of a pair of hands playing an electric guitar, but the soundtrack is replaced with the noise created by intense amplification from the video signal. It's exactly the opposite of what we spend our days doing, which is what makes it so darn interesting. Hit the link to see an embedded video of Drone metal superstars, Sunn O))).

Thanks to Mike Errico for the tip.
