Atlantic Technology FS-7.1 Soundbar Speaker System HT Labs Measures

Satellite Sensitivity: 83 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz

This graph shows the quasi-anechoic (employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the left channel of the FS-7.1 (purple trace) and SB-900 subwoofer (blue trace). The passive loudspeaker was measured with its grille at a distance of 1 meter with a 2.83-volt input.

The FS-7.1’s left channel listening-window response (a five-point average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal and vertical responses) measures +3.22/–7.74 decibels from 200 hertz to 10 kilohertz. The –3-dB point is at 112 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 92 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 9.36 ohms at 1.4 kHz and a phase angle of –6.87 degrees at 158 Hz.

The SB-900’s close-miked response, normalized to the level at 80 Hz, indicates that the lower –3-dB point is at 32 Hz and the –6-dB point is at 30 Hz. The upper –3-dB point is at 227 Hz with the Bypass switch engaged. —MJP.

Having owned a TXNR609, I can tell you that for MUSIC playback, a lot of what you report is due to your choice in AVR. Swap it out for a Marantz and listen again, you will be pleasantly surprised!

Have this setup mounted on top of my ST50 65" and powered by a Pioneer SC-55. Love it
