2012 London Olympics Could Be in 3D

England's Sky satellite broadcaster has said that "there is a very good chance you'll see the London Olympics in 3D"

Sky had a meeting in London demo-ing 3DTV, and if they have their way, they'll be shooting more and more 3D in the future, focusing on sporting events.

They also mentioned that Dreamworks has said that every movie going forward will be available in 3D, and they know of 63 movies planned for the next few years which will be 3D enabled.

The Sky system uses this approach for 3D . . .

Sky has hinted that Sony might be manufacturing a set that's compatible with their passive system. Just when you finally bought that new TV, it looks like it might be on its way to being obsolete. —Leslie Shapiro
