‘Super Tickets’ for New Hobbit On Sale Today

Advance ticket buyers also receive digital HD version of the movie

Regal Entertainment announced that Super Tickets go on sale today for director Peter Jackson’s highly anticipated The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, which opens in theaters on December 13.

For the price of the theatrical movie admission plus $20, Regal Super Ticket holders get a voucher to redeem a high-definition digital version of the movie, which will be available “weeks before the Blu-ray and DVD release date and four days prior to the digital release of the film.” The voucher also covers a standard-definition digital version of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey that will be available for immediate streaming or download through any UltraViolet service, such as Flixster or Vudu. You will need to set up free UltraViolet and Flixster (or other UV partner) accounts to redeem the digital movies.

Super Ticket holders are also automatically entered into a sweepstakes for a chance to win a trip to New Zealand to visit the Hobbiton movie set and Weta Cave. Five second-prize winners will receive Hobbit prop replicas and 25 third-prize winners will receive The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Extended Edition and The Lord of the Rings Trilogy on Blu-ray.

Super Tickets are available at participating Regal box offices or via REGmovies.com. Regal Entertainment operates 7,342 screens in 576 theaters across 42 states and in Guam, Saipan, American Samoa, and the District of Columbia.
