Integra Introduces its First AVR with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Ultra HD/4K Upscaling

Integra has introduced its first A/V receiver with built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity and Ultra HD (4K) passthrough and upscaling.

The DTR-30.5 lists for $1,000 and is also equipped to playback high-definition music files in FLAC, DSD, ALAC, HD 24/96, and HD 24/192 formats.

Connection options include six HDMI inputs with two outputs for connection to streaming services via Apple TV, Roku, Blu-ray players, and other sources, a USB port, and a hard-wire Ethernet connection. The networking features facilitate streaming from online services including Spotify, Pandora, Rhapsody, SiriusXM Internet Radio, and Tune In. The DTR-30.5 also supports legacy digital and analog sources, including a phono input for connecting a turntable.

The 4K passthrough feature allows Ultra HD video signals to be passed directly to a TV without interference or modification. For conventional video sources, the receiver uses the Marvel Qdeo processor for upscaling to a full 4K presentation via HDMI.

On the audio side, the DTR-30.5 incorporates Integra’s Phase Matching Bass technology, which is said to optimize bass performance while preserving midrange clarity by synchronizing the timing of different frequencies. The amplifier sections employ the company's three-stage inverted Darlington circuitry and Wide Range Amplifier Technology (WRAT), a low negative-feedback topology for low distortion and high dynamic range. Rated power output 7 x 95 watts.

Other features include InstaPreview, which provides picture-in-picture monitoring for multiple HDMI-connected program sources, and Mobile High-definition Link (MHL) to deliver high-definition video and up to 7.1 channels of audio from MHL-compliant Android smartphones and other products.

In addition to Dolby True HD and DTS-HD Master Audio sound processing, the DTR-30.5 offers Dolby Pro Logic IIz for an alternate 7.1 surround-sound option that includes front height channels. Audyssey MultEQ is also included for automated room setup using a supplied microphone along with Audyssey Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume.

The DTR-30.5 is set up to accommodate custom installations with a Powered Zone 2 and Zone 2 preouts, two IR inputs and one output for remote control integration, and three 12-volt triggers. A bi-directional RS-232 port is also available for connection to some home automation systems.

Wow, lots of new toys. Bet we will see a new Integra preamp, probably the 80.4 or 90.0 with all these features.

The new DTR-30.5 sound terrific, but for us dedicated preamp - amp users we need some of these new options...or all of them. (grin)
